Department of Homeland Security startet US-VISIT Programm
Seit Januar 2004 implementiert das Department of Homeland Security
an allen US Flughäfen das neue US-VISIT Programm. Dies beinhaltet, dass
ein Foto und Fingerabdrücke angefertigt werden. Betroffen
davon sind alle, die die Vereinigten Staaten besuchen. Ausgeschlossen sind
Besucher, die aus Ländern stammen die unter das jetzige Visa-Waiver Program
fallen wie z.B. Deutschland, England, Frankreich, Japan, Slovenia, Australien
usw. Ausgeschlossen sind auch Kinder unter 14 Jahren, Diplomaten, alte Menschen
über 79 Jahre, Green Card Besitzer und US Staatsbürger.
Department
of Homeland Security launches US-VISIT Program
The Department of Homeland Security started the US-VISIT program in January
2004. This program affects certain non-immigrant foreign nationals to fingerprinting
and photographing before they can enter the US. Visitors from most european
countries that fall under the visa-waiver program, diplomatic visitors, children
under the age of 14 and seniors over the age of 79 are exempt. This program
also does not apply to Green Card Holders or US Citizens.
